On occasions, pupils will be offered the opportunity to participate in educational activities which take place away from the school site. At other times pupils may be given the opportunity to work in school with authors, theatre groups or other 'expert groups'. All of these opportunities are used to enhance the curriculum, engage pupil interest and develop key skills, knowledge and understanding.
Pupils in Years 4 and 6 are invited to take part in a residential visit each year. Year 4 pupils take part in a one day visit which includes an overnight stay. The older pupils stay away from home for two nights and participate in three days of activities. These visits provide pupils with a valuable opportunity to develop confidence, independence and the ability to work as part of a team. All pupils are encouraged to take part in these events.
Every effort is made to minimise the cost to parents of educational visits. However, as the school has no designated funding for these events, it is usually necessary to request a financial contribution. Such contributions are voluntary, although if insufficient contributions are received, it may be necessary to cancel the event. Please consult the school's charging policy for further information
